March is the time to celebrate the life of St. Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland who helped introduce Ireland to Christianity. With Irish blood running through my family’s veins, you can be certain we are celebrating!
This post about St. Patrick’s Day: Getting Your Green On is part of a campaign for Catholic Central.
Now, we don’t go all out like the city of Chicago and start dying a river green. But, we do wear some green on the day. This photo is of me a few years ago, but it is ready for St. Patrick’s Day this year, too.
And when I am ready to ‘relax’ at home, I am putting on these rose leggings that have splashes of green throughout them.
We often enjoy the ‘traditional’ corned beef and cabbage. However, as I am not a huge fan of corned beef, we sometimes substitute an Irish Stew.
Soda bread is something we’ve historically made to go with the meal. This year (2019) I am going to make the recipe using a gluten-free flour blend. If it works, I’ll be updating my recipe post to share about it.
Finally, you can bet there’ll be some Irish music heard in our house. This list of artists is just the tip of the iceberg for what we play.
