Every year, many of us find different ways to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day on March 17th.
I’ve shared a few fashion posts on wearing green to avoid the traditional ‘pinch.’ Movies and music to celebrate the Irish have been circulated. Even Irish food has made it onto the blog!
Since our family has a fair bit of Irish, we enjoy many of these throughout the year. (Scroll down for a round up of past content for St. Patrick’s Day!)
Today, I have a craft for you. It can be a great activity to do with the kids, too!
Make an Easy Clothespin Vase for St. Patrick’s Day
As in all things, a little preparation goes a long way.
So, gather up all your materials. Find a good spot to lay everything out for the assembly process.
And, then have fun!
Materials for the Clothespin Vase:

18 clothespins
Mason jar lid
2 green colored paints (one darker, one lighter)
Foam paintbrush
Optional: green ribbon or St. Patrick’s Day Ribbon
Directions for the Clothespin Vase:
Paint 9 clothespins the darker green color and the other 9 the lighter green color.
Let dry (about 1 hour).
Attach clothespins around the rim of the Mason jar lid (to make a pattern of every other color).
You can tie a ribbon around the vase and secure with a dot of hot glue in the back if it doesn’t stay.
Add fake flowers. If you don’t have any in the house, then make your own! Just use tissue paper and maybe a bit of the paint to get a hint of color.
While these instructions are for St. Patrick’s Day, you can apply the same technique for any holiday color combination your heart desires.
